Extension activities - Women Grievance Redressal Cell
In view of the increasing number of female learners in the college, Women Grievance Redressal Cell makes every effort to ensure that the girls feel at home. The cell resolves common problems of girl students and women employees. This cell also takes up individual cases of sexual harassment, if any. The cell has been formed in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Grievance Redressal) Regulations.
Women Grievance Redressal cell organizes health awareness programmes like Mega skin camp, Importance of yoga, Cleanliness and health information and Anti leprosy programme
OBJECTIVES:
It aims:
To create a congenial working environment which is free of sexual harassment or gender based discrimination for all women employees and students
Encouraging the Students to express their grievances / problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being victimized.
To motivate the Students to attend seminars on women empowerment to various colleges.
Activities : 2023 - 2024
1. A meeting was organized by IQAC for SIP -2023 on 12.07.2023. Our PrincipalDr. K. Balasubramanian delivered the presidential address. IQAC coordinator Dr. A. Sivagurunathan delivered the special address. Welcome address was delivered by Women’s cell coordinator Dr. R. Ponmani Subha Chellam. Motivational speech was given by all the department representatives to the girl students .
2. A Health Awareness Program was conducted by Women’s cell jointly organized with HORP and Health centre on 21.07.2023. Dr. N. Vijayalakshmi gave the special address o Health awareness and Hygiene for the girl students. Also health check up was done by the doctors team to the girl students and Staff members.
3. International Women’ day was celebrated on March o8, 2024. Our Principal Dr. K. Balasubramanian delivered the presidential address. Welcome address was delivered by Dr. N.Sankaragomthi,Department of Commerce . Women’s day special address was given by Dr.UmaDurairaj, VigneshHomeo clinic, Palayamkottai. Women’s day competitions were conducted and prize was distributed for the girl students who won the prizes. Heartfullness Yoga Centre, Tirunelveli sponsored the prize winners certificate and shield for the girl students.Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. S. Ramalakshmi, Department of Tamil. Women’s day programme was well organised by Dr. R. Ponmani Subha Chellam, Women’s Grievance Cell Coordinator and the Women’s Cell Representatives of all departments.
