Extension activities - ECO Club
Earth is the only planet credited with life in the solar system. It has a very long history. The earth has become sick and urgently needs a cure. Its our earnest duty to handover this earth safely to our future generation. The Eco club joins with each other to face and remove the threats and to find ways to halt the march to protect future mankind. The Eco club of the college functions with the motto of "Green Campus", through activities like campus cleaning, plantations and growing of saplings and creating rainwater harvesting awareness and application of Bio fertilizers. The Eco Club plants and 100 saplings every academic year and maintains diversified flora in the college premises. The club is successful in achieving its goal in establishing a green campus in the college.

Student volunteers enrolled for the academic year 2023 – 2024.Organized one day seminar on “Forest Day” celebrated on 21st March 2024 at The M.D.T Hindu College Seminar Hall. Ecoclub volunteer Ms.Visalatchi of II.B.Sc.,Zoology welcomed the gathering. Tirunelveli Forest ranger Mr.Sivasankar delivered the Special address Nagerkovil forest Ranger for Research and Development Thiru.Nellainayagam delivered the Keynote address. Ecoclub coordinator Dr.K.Subramonian delivered the Inaugural address. Our Principal Dr.K.Balasubramanian Preside over the function and delivered the Presidential address. Ms.Sivananthini of II.B.Sc.,Zoology delivered vote of thanks. Ms.Subbulakshmi of II.B.Sc.,Zoology compiled the Programme. Nearly 100 student volunteer Participated in the programme.

Students enrolled for the academic year 2022 – 2023.Jointly organized One day seminar on “Forest – A renewable Ecosystem” with Research and Education Wing, Tamil Nadu Forest department at STAR GV Seminar Hall on 3rd April 2023.Dr.K.Subramonian, Coordinator, Ecoclub delivered the welcome address. Dr. A. Subramanian, Principal of our College presides over the function and delivered the presidential address. Additional Conservator of Forest of Madurai Zone Mr.Elango delivered the Keynote address on “Forest and Society”. Tirunelveli Forest Range Officer Mr.Sivasankar delivered special address on “Soil and Tree”. Mr.Nellai nayagam delivered special address on “Tree and People”. IQAC coordinator Dr.K.Balasubramanian delivered the felicitation address. Selvi. Selva saranya of II.B.Sc.,Zoology delivered vote of thanks. Selvi. Muthumercy of II.B.Sc., Zoology compiled the programme. Nearly 150 Ecoclub volunteers participated in the Programme. Certificates were distributed to the outgoing final year students. Proposed to plant 1000 saplings in the next academic year.
