Extension activities - NCC
Our college NCC Company was introduced before 50 years. The regular activities are drill, map reading, weapon training, battle craft field craft, firing, obstacle training and trekking. In 2004 the mixed battalion was started and 337 girls were also allowed to join. Every year RDC, JSC training is given for selected NCC cadets. Cadets are actively participating in National Integration Camp, NCC National Games, Republic day Parade at New Delhi. Apart from this, NCC 'B' and 'C' certificate exams are conducted every year.
Activities : 2023 - 2024
1. 25 Cadets attended Combined Annual training Camp (CATC), conducted by 5 (TN) BN NCC at SadakathullahAppa College, Tirunelveli, from 01.06.2023 to 10.06.2023. At the end of this camp on the basis of Drill and Cultural performance 3 Cadets were selected for IUC Camp.
2. L/CPL. C. Siva Guru Prakash II-B.sc Physical Education, and L/CPL. A. Hari Sankar II-B.Com Cadets attended ThalSainik Camp-Trg-Iat NCC Training Academy, Idayapatti, Madurai from 06.06.2023to 15.06.2023. The Cadets have excellence in Obstacles, Field Craft, Battle Craft and Map reading they were qualified for ThalSainik Camp-Trg-II.
3. L/CPL. C. Siva Guru Prakash II-B.sc Physical Education and L/CPL. A. Hari Sankar II-B.Com Cadets attendedThalSainik Camp- Trg-II at NCC Training Academy, Idayapatti, Madurai form 16.06.2023 to 25.06.2023.The Cadets have excellence in Obstacles, Field Craft, Battle Craft and Map reading they were selected for ThalSainik Camp- Launch.
4. L/CPL. C. Siva Guru Prakash II-B.sc Physical Education and L/CPL. A. Hari Sankar II-B.Com Cadets attendedThalSainik Camp- Launch at NCC Training Academy, Idayapatti, Madurai form 06.07.2023 to 15.07.2023.The Cadets have excellence in Obstacles, Field Craft, Battle Craft and Map reading they were selected for ThalSainik Camp- IGC.
5. L/CPL. C. Siva Guru Prakash II-B.sc Physical Education and L/CPL. A. Hari Sankar II-B.Com Cadets attended ThalSainik Camp- IGC at Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering College, ManimangalamTambaram, Chennai form 16.07.2023 to 25.07.2023.The Cadets have excellence in Obstacles, Field Craft, Battle Craft and Map reading
6. 25 Cadets attended ‘The International YOGA Day’ conducted by 5(TN) BN NCC Tirunelveli at St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli on 21.06.2023.
7. SUO. B. Sanjay III-B.sc Physical Education, CDT. K. Santhanavelpandi II-B.sc Physical Education, CDT. U. Muthu Lakshmi II-B.sc Maths attended in RDC-IUC Camp at NCC Training Academy, Idayapatti, Madurai form 17.07.2023 to 26.07.2023.The Cadets haveexcellence in Drill and Culturals, 2 cadets were selected RDC- Trg-I.
8. 5(TN) BN NCC organized the NCC Cadets interaction program on 28.07.2023. The CommodoreAtul Kumar RastogiDeputy Director General of NCC Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andaman & Nicobar Directorate, Chennai has interacted with Cadets atSadakathullahAppaCollege.As part of this programme 45 cadets of our College have actively participaded.
9. Col. Bobby Joseph, Officer Commanding5(TN) BN NCC, Tirunelveli visited to our College NCC Unit along with Sub. Major Chandracharion 10.08.2023. He interacted to our Principal and Cadets. He also gave more information about the SSB Examination to the cadets.
10. Independence Day was celebrated at the College premises on 15.08.2023. Dr.K.Balasubramanian, Principal hoisted National Flag and presided over the program.Lt.Dr.P.SenthilKumardelivered the Welcome address, Prof.Dr.R.Ilakkuvan, NSS Programme Officer delivered the Vote of Thanks and Prof,Dr.C.Anitha, YRC Programme Officer hosted the program.
11. SUO.B.Sanjay III-B.sc Physical Education, L/CPL. K. Santhanavelpandi II-B.sc Physical Education and L/CPL. S. Maharasi, II-B.A Economics(EM) attended RDC-Trg-Icamp at NCC Training Academy, Idayapatti, Madurai from 17.08.2023 to 26.08.2023. The Cadets have excellence in Drill and Cultural, they were selected RDC- Trg-II camp.
12. L/CPL M.Sri Ram Sundar, II-B.sc Computer Science and L/CPL.A.EswarenII-B.A Economics (EM) attended in Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Camp at NCC Training Academy, Idayapatti. Madurai from 17.08.2023 to 26.08.2023.Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme aims to enhance interaction & promote mutual understanding between people of different states/UTs through the concept of state/UT pairing.
13. 5(TN) BN NCC and The M.D.T Hindu College NCC Unit were jointly organized on PUNEET SAGAR ABHIYAN on 09.09.2023 at Thamirabarani river, Gopalasamuthiram, Tirunelveli. The PuneetSagarAbhiyan was launched by NCC, in a bid to clean Sea Shores or Beaches and other water bodies including rivers & lakes, by removing plastic & other waste. The campaign seeks to increase awareness amongst local population about importance of keeping beaches and river fronts clean. Lt.Dr.P.Senthilkumar, Associate NCC Officer, PI Staff Hav.Jahangeer, Hav.Sankar Raj and 40 Cadets have actively participated in this event.
14. L/CPL. K.Santhanavelpandi II-B.sc Physical Education, and L/CPL. S. Maharasi, II-B.A Economics (EM) attended RDC-Trg-II at NCC Training Academy, Idayapatti, Madurai from 17.09.2023 to 26.092023. The Cadets have excellence in Cultural they were selected in RDC-Launch camp.
15. The M.D.T Hindu College conducted the “Mega Blood Donation Camp” on 20.09.2023. More than 20 Cadets have been Donated Blood Voluntarily.
16. 32 Cadets attended the “Swachhata Hi Seva” at Tirunelveli Railway Station, on 01.10.2023.
17. L/CPL. K. Santhanavelpandi II-B.sc Physical Education attended RDC-Launch at NCC Training Academy, Idayapatti, Madurai from 01.10.2023 to 10.10.2023. The Cadet has excellence in Cultural he was selected for RDC-IGC Camp.
18. L/CPL. K. Santhanavelpandi II-B.sc Physical Education attended RDC-IGC Camp at NCC Training Academy, Idayapatti, Madurai from 11.10.2023 to 20.10.2023. He was selected for IGC -Trg-I Camp.
19. L/CPL. K. Santhanavelpandi II-B.sc Physical Education attended RDC-IGC Trg-Iat NCC Training Academy, Idayapatti, Madurai from 21.10.2023 to 30.10.2023.
20. 21 Cadets attended the “Gandhi Jayanti” at Tirunelveli Municipal Corporation on 02.10.2023. Lt.Col. Nitesh Kumar honoured the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi Jayanti is an event celebrated in India to mark the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. The United Nations celebrates the day as International Day of Non-Violence
21. L/CPL. P. Rajesh II-B.sc Physical Education attended “BASICLEADERSHIP CAMP” at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore from 25.10.2023 to 05.10.2023. Conducted by 2(TN) AIR SQN.
22. SUO.B.Sanjay III-B.sc Physical Education and CQMS.S.GowsikRajavel III-B.sc Physical Education attended “ALL INDIA NCC BOYS TREKKING EXPEDICTION” conducted by 9(K) BN NCC, Kottarakkara at Kollam, Kerela from 23.12.2023 to 30.12.2023.
23. Republic Day was celebrated at the College premises on 26.01.2024. Dr.K.Balasubramanian, Principal hoisted National Flag and presided over the program. 24. 20 Cadets attended for volunteers in “PORUNAI ILAKKIYA THIRUVIZHA” at Nehrujikalaiarangam, Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli from 30.01.2024 to 31.01.2024.
25. 24 Cadets attended 3 days ‘C’ Certificate Examination Training at St. Johns School from 08.02.2024 to 10.02.2024.
26. NCC Unit of our College assisted the Nellai Book Fair-2024 from 10-02-2024 to 18.02.2024. In this event Lt.Dr.P.Senthilkumar, Associate NCC Officer, and 50 Cadets have served as the volunteers.
27. 24 Cadets were attended ‘C’ Certificate Examination at Sarah Tucker College, Tirunelvelion 17.02.2024 and 18.02.2024.
28. 25 Cadets were participated in Election Awareness Rally, organized by District Collector Office, Tirunelveli. The rally was started from the VaagaiadiMukku, and reached to V.O.C Street. After the awareness on Election- 2024 with slogan and distributed pamphlets. The rally returns to the VaagaiadiMukku.
29. L/CPL. M. Sri Ram Sundar II-B.sc Computer Science and CDT. S. Muthu Lakshmi I-B.A English attended”Pre Inter Group Firing Competition” at NCC Training Academy, Idayapatti, Madurai, from 05.04. 2024 to 14.04.2024. Conducted by 5 (TN) BN NCC.
30. L/CPL. M. Sri Ram Sundar II-B.sc Computer Science and CDT. S. Muthu LakshmiI-B.A English attended ‘Inter Group Firing Competition” at KonguEngneering College, Perundurai, Erode from 15.04.2024 to 24.04.2024.
31. L/CPL. M. Sri Ram Sundar II-B.sc Computer Science and CDT. S. Muthu Lakshmi I-B.A English attended “IDSSC TRG-I” at Sri BalaVidyamandir Matric HSS, Paluvoor, Trichy from 20.05.2024 to 29.05.2024. Conducted by 2 (TN) ARMD SQN NCC.
