Well-equipped laboratories and a separate computer lab, E-learning room is available.

Well-constructed libraries with more than 1500 reference books including research books are accessible to the students.

Equipped with a separate research lab and characterization instruments UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, FTIR Spectrophotometer, Vicker’s Micro Hardness Tester, 5kW- Biomass gasifier, hydrogen storage setup, shock-wave generating tube by using the DST-FIST, UGC and TNSCST grants.

Till now 16 research scholars have been awarded doctoral degree and 20 research scholars are pursuing Ph.D. in the fields of Crystal growth, Materials Science, Nanotechnology and Renewable energy.

The department received major and minor research projects and motivates the students to do innovative/research projects.

Our alumni are placed as scientist in nuclear power station in Tamilnadu, employed globally in various government/private organizations and contributed financially for the growth of the department.

The student’s job opportunities are being enhanced by MoU/collaborations with various organizations and industries across Tamilnadu.
