The Department of Computer Science was established in the academic year 1988-1989. The computer Science Laboratory has sufficient computers catering to the need of the Syllabi. One of the staff member is recognized as research guide. The Staff members of the department have served as members of board of studies for Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, and other autonomous colleges. They also served as members of inspection committee, resource persons in various conference and seminar.

To enrich and enhance the knowledge of the students, every year the department conducts association meetings and intra department Quiz competition "For the Students By the Students". In the year 2015 the department organized Silver CS, the state level technical meet to commemorate successful outcome of twenty fifth batch. Regularly students are bringing laurels 'to the department by participating intercollegiate meet organized by other colleges.

Even though we have only UG course, every year more number of students are proceeding higher studies, placed in various companies and doing government job also.

We are very proud to record that Mr.R.Ramkumar, Vice President of the Devcare Solutions in US and Devcare Solutions Pvt Limited in India was one of our prestigious alumnus. He was contributed Rs.25 lakhs to build the conference hall namely STAR GV in our premises.
